## What starts a scenario

A scenario starts on an event in a conversation, an order or the calendar.

- **Conversation**: Message received with keywords, new conversation, reopened conversation, Click to WhatsApp ad.
- **Orders and proposals**: Order received, confirmed or delivered; proposal sent, accepted or to be changed.
- **Contact**: Tag added, stage change, or started by hand by a team member.
- **Dates**: A few days before or after delivery, at a set time; no order or message for a number of days; every week for a segment.
- **Started by the agent**: The AI agent starts the scenario when it recognises a booking request, an order or a question.
- **Call from another tool Coming soon**: Started by an external service.

## The steps

The tree arranges itself: add a block on an output and WYP.chat places what follows.

- **Send and ask**: Text, buttons or a list; the customer’s answer picks the branch, “Other reply” and “No reply” included.
- **Wait and check**: A delay, opening hours, the delivery date, a reply or an order; AND / OR conditions and A/B tests.
- **Act**: Tag, contact stage, assignment, note, notify a member, field, marketing consent, order confirmation.
- **Hand over**: To the team, or to another scenario.
- **Ask the agent**: The AI agent answers the customer, sorts their reply into your choices or drafts a reply for the team. When it is unsure, the conversation goes to the team.
- **Call an external service Coming soon**: Step shown in the editor, not active yet.

## WhatsApp’s rules, applied for you

A scenario cannot do anything a team member would not be allowed to do.

[24-hour window and templates: the glossary](https://wyp.chat/en/glossary)

- **24-hour window**: After 24 hours without a customer message, the scenario sends a Meta-[approved template](https://wyp.chat/en/glossary#modele), hands over to the team or sends nothing, as you choose.
- **A person replies, the scenario stops**: Adjustable; it also stops when the customer sends STOP, or by hand.
- **Marketing**: A marketing scenario only reaches contacts who opted in.
- **Frequency and conflicts**: Once, every time or every N days; if another scenario is running, skip or wait for its turn.

## One scenario on every channel

The message goes out in the best format the customer’s channel offers.

- **WhatsApp**: Buttons, lists, carousels and link buttons.
- **Messenger and Instagram**: Buttons and lists become quick replies.
- **Telegram**: Buttons become Telegram buttons.
- **Website chat**: Buttons under the message, in the bubble.
- **Email**: Text with a numbered list; a reply of “2” is recognised.

## Test a scenario before switching it on

Every scenario is tested before it goes live, and everyone can see what is running.

- **Simulator**: Walk through the scenario step by step, playing the customer; waits are skipped.
- **Real test send from the simulator Coming soon**: The simulator stays in the browser.
- **Roles**: A supervisor prepares and requests activation, an admin switches it on; a team member sees the running scenario on the contact panel and can stop it.
- **In the inbox**: Messages sent by a scenario are marked “Scenario” in the thread.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is a WhatsApp scenario?

It is an automated journey: a trigger, such as a new message or an order, then steps that send messages, ask button questions, wait or hand the conversation to your team.

### Do I need to code?

No. The editor is visual and arranges the blocks for you, and the gallery offers scenarios ready to install.

### Can a scenario message a customer after 24 hours?

Only with a Meta-approved template, just like your team. Otherwise it hands the conversation to the team or sends nothing: you decide.

### How is it different from the WhatsApp Business app’s away message?

The app sends a greeting or away message and quick replies. A scenario chains several steps, reads the customer’s answer, waits, and also works on Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, email and website chat.

### Which plan do I need?

Ready-made scenarios, building from scratch and marketing scenarios on every plan: automated messages included with a subscription, 2 credits per message on the Free plan.
