# Several sites or brands: what your AI agent knows

> Each website or brand can have its own base: your AI agent answers only from what the right base knows, and a visitor to one site never gets an answer taken from the other.

## Create a base

1. Open **Automation › AI agents** and unfold **Advanced settings**, at the bottom of the page.
2. In **Several websites or brands**, click **Several sites or brands? Add a base**. Enter the **Name of the new base**, then click **Create the base**.
3. The **Sites and brands** section appears. Choose the base to set up in the **Base** menu.
4. In **Sites**, tick your widgets’ sites that use this base. For another site, type its address (for example www.example.com) and click **Add**.
5. In **Channels**, tick the WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram or Telegram channels that use this base.
6. If needed, choose a **Look**, a **Business** and **Voice replies** for this base. Otherwise, it follows the workspace settings.
7. Fill in what the base knows: in the **What it knows** tab, choose it in the **Base shown** menu, then add its sitemaps (3 at most), its FAQ and its PDF documents. **Re-read the site** reads this base’s pages again, and **Try a question** answers with it.
8. Click **Save**. For another base, click **Add a base**.

## Which base answers?

1. The base of the site the visitor is writing from.
2. Otherwise, the base of the conversation’s channel.
3. Otherwise, the **Default base**.

## If the site does not respond

When no page of the site could be read (site down or too slow), your AI agent keeps the pages read the previous time: nothing is erased. The **What it knows** tab shows “The site could not be read on …: no page responded”, and it tries again the next day. Once the site is back, you can also click **Re-read the site**.

**Good to know** A site or a channel only goes into one base. 10 bases at most per workspace. Each sitemap only gives the pages of its own site, 400 pages at most per base. Quick replies and the product catalogue are shared by all bases, and the checkboxes of the **What it knows** tab apply to the whole workspace. **Make it the default base** changes the default base. **Delete the base** erases its FAQ, documents and pages read; the last base cannot be deleted. The **WYP.chat help center** as a source for a base stays reserved for the WYP.chat team.
