# Google Calendar and WhatsApp: appointments, Meet and Contacts

> WYP.chat connects Google Calendar, Meet and Contacts to your WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, email and website chat conversations. From a conversation, you offer a available slot from your calendar and the meeting is created with its Google Meet link. Each team member connects their own Google account, and your Google contacts import in a few clicks.

At a glance

- Free slots from your calendar
- Google Meet link created for you
- Today’s meetings in My day
- Import of your Google contacts
- Included in every plan

## From message to meeting, without leaving the conversation

A customer wants a call, a prospect asks for a demo, a tenant wants to book a chat: the meeting is arranged where the request comes in.

### A customer asks for a meeting

Click Meeting: your available slots appear, you pick one, the event and its Meet link are created, and the message is ready to send.

### Your day at a glance

In My day, today’s meetings sit next to the conversations waiting for you. Only you can see them.

### Your Google contacts in the directory

The import brings in contacts with a phone number, through the same wizard as a file import: columns, marketing consent, report.

## What the Google integration does

The integration uses Google’s official APIs: Google Calendar for availability and events, Google Meet for the video link, and the People API for contacts.

- **Free slots**: Only your busy periods are read, never the details of your meetings. Slots are offered within your opening hours, from an hour ahead and over 10 days, for 15 to 90 minutes.
- **Meetings with Google Meet**: The event is created in your calendar with its Meet link. If you know the customer’s email address, Google can also send them the invitation.
- **Message ready to send**: The message with the date and the link is pre-filled in your reply: check it, then send it. The meeting is noted in the thread for your colleagues.
- **On all your channels**: The Meeting button works in WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, email and website chat conversations.
- **My day**: Today’s meetings on your dashboard, for you only.
- **Google Contacts import**: Contacts with a number join the directory. Their marketing consent stays “unknown” until they give it.

## Offering a meeting, with and without the integration

The same meeting, arranged from a WhatsApp conversation.

| Step | Without the integration | With Google in WYP.chat |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Finding a slot | Opening your calendar in another tab | Free slots offered in the conversation |
| Creating the video link | Creating the event, copying the Meet link | Event and Meet link created in one click |
| Letting the customer know | Typing the message by hand | Pre-filled message, email invitation if the address is known |
| Seeing today’s meetings | In Google Calendar | In My day, next to your conversations |
| Adding your contacts | Exporting a file, then importing it | Direct import from Google Contacts |

Privacy

## Your calendar stays yours

Each member connects their own Google account from Settings, My account. Colleagues never have access, and WYP.chat reads only what each feature needs.

[Privacy policy, “Data from Google” section](https://app.wyp.agency/legal/privacy/?lang=en#en)

- **What WYP.chat reads**: Your busy periods to offer slots, today’s meetings for My day, and your contacts only when you start an import.
- **Permissions when needed**: Calendar access is requested when you connect; access to your contacts, only at your first import.
- **Encrypted token**: The token that gives access to your Google account is encrypted. Disconnecting revokes access at Google and deletes the token; a member who leaves the workspace loses the link too.
- **Limited use**: Data received from Google is used only for these features. It is not sold, shared, or used for advertising or to train AI, as Google’s user data rules require (Limited Use).
- **App verified by Google**: WYP.chat has passed Google’s app verification for calendar and contacts access (October 2026): no “unverified app” screen when you connect.

## Connecting your Google account

Two minutes per person. Each team member who offers meetings connects their own calendar.

To import your contacts: Contacts, Import, then Import from Google Contacts. Google then asks for access to your contacts.

1. **Connect your calendar**: In WYP.chat, open Settings, My account, then Google Calendar and Meet, and click Connect Google Calendar.
2. **Allow access**: Choose your Google account and allow access to your availability and your events.
3. **Offer a meeting**: In a conversation, click Meeting, check the title and duration, pick a available slot, then click Create the meeting.
4. **Send the message**: Check the pre-filled message with the date and Meet link, then send it to the customer.

## What the integration does not do yet

So you know what to expect:

- No shared team calendar: everyone offers their own slots, with no automatic sharing-out between colleagues.
- Website chat visitors cannot yet book your available slots themselves. In the meantime, a Google Calendar booking link opens inside the chat bubble.
- Contacts are imported on demand: no continuous sync, and only contacts with a number are brought in.
- On WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger, the message to the customer goes out within the [24-hour window](https://wyp.chat/en/glossary#fenetre-24h), like any reply.
- Outlook Calendar is not connected yet: the integration is planned.

Plan

## Frequently asked questions

### Can my colleagues see my calendar?

No. Everyone connects their own Google account and nobody else has access. When you offer a meeting, only your available slots are shown, and only to you.

### Does WYP.chat read what is in my meetings?

Not to offer slots: only your busy periods are read. Today’s meetings appear in My day, for you only.

### Does the customer get an invitation?

If you know their email address and tick the option, yes, from Google. Either way, the message with the date and Meet link is ready to go in the conversation.

### How do I remove access to my Google account?

Click Disconnect in Settings, My account: access is revoked at Google and the token deleted. You can also do it from your Google account. Meetings already created stay in your calendar.

### Will my Google contacts receive campaigns?

Not without their consent. They are imported with marketing consent set to “unknown”, and WYP.chat only sends marketing templates to contacts who have given it.
