# Ringover and WhatsApp: turn every missed call into a conversation

> WYP.chat connects your Ringover phone system to your WhatsApp conversations. Every incoming, outgoing or missed call shows in the customer’s conversation, with its length and the team member who answered. You call back in one click, listen to the recording, and a missed call from a mobile can get a WhatsApp message two minutes later, so the customer writes to you instead.

At a glance

- Every call in the WhatsApp conversation
- One-click call back from the conversation
- Recordings played on demand, never copied
- Missed calls followed up on WhatsApp
- Team and Pro plans, and during the trial

## Phone calls and WhatsApp in one conversation

A customer calls while you are out on a job, a colleague has already called back, someone else wants to know what was said: it all reads in one place, the customer’s conversation.

### A missed call while you are on a job

Two minutes later, the customer gets a WhatsApp message inviting them to write. They describe what they need, and your team handles it like any other conversation.

### The whole team sees the call

The call line shows the direction, the length, who answered and the number. When Ringover provides a call summary, it arrives as an internal note.

### Call back without looking for the number

Click Call back in the conversation: your phone rings on the device you choose, then Ringover calls the customer.

## What the Ringover integration does

The integration uses Ringover’s official API. You paste an API key into WYP.chat, which checks it and subscribes to your calls itself: there is no webhook to set up.

- **Call log**: Every incoming, outgoing or missed call, and every voicemail, shows in the person’s WhatsApp conversation, with the length, who answered and the number. If the number is new, a contact record is created.
- **Linked team members**: Each Ringover user is linked to the WYP.chat member with the same confirmed email address.
- **Call back**: From the conversation, your phone rings first (on the device of your choice), then Ringover calls the customer.
- **Listen to the recording**: On demand, for members who can see the conversation, except the Viewer role. Every playback is written to the audit log, and the audio stays with Ringover.
- **Call summary**: When Ringover provides it, the summary arrives as an internal note in the thread. The AI agent reads it too, as context for the conversation.
- **Missed call to WhatsApp**: With the Allô chantier pack and its Missed call scenario, a customer who got no answer receives a WhatsApp message two minutes after calling.

## A missed call, with and without the integration

The same call, received while the whole team is busy.

| Step | Without the integration | With Ringover in WYP.chat |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Find out who called | Open the Ringover call log | The call in the customer’s WhatsApp conversation |
| Reach the customer | Call back later, often with no answer | WhatsApp message two minutes later, the customer writes what they need |
| Know whether a colleague called back | Ask around | Member and length on the call line; no message if someone called back |
| Call back | Copy the number | Call back button in the conversation |
| Find out what was said | Look for the recording in Ringover | Playback from the conversation, summary as an internal note |

Missed call

## The automatic message after a missed call

Two minutes after a missed incoming call from a mobile, if nobody has called back or picked up in the meantime, WYP.chat sends the customer a WhatsApp message inviting them to write. It is the Missed call scenario in the Allô chantier pack: after every missed call, or only outside your opening hours.

[Turn on the missed call message, step by step](https://wyp.chat/en/help/appel-manque-whatsapp)

- **The message**: “Hello, you called Martin Renovations. We are out on a job right now. Tell us here what you need and we will get back to you.” The name is your business name.
- **The customer wrote to you in the last 24 hours**: The WhatsApp [24-hour window](https://wyp.chat/en/glossary#fenetre-24h) is open: the message goes as free text.
- **After 24 hours**: You need a utility template approved by Meta (the pack prepares it as a draft) and the customer’s consent, collected by Ringover’s phone menu: “press 1 to accept a WhatsApp message”, with the announcement provided by WYP.chat. The proof is kept, and this consent allows no campaign.
- **Never**: For an internal call or a withheld number, to a landline, or more than one message per number in 24 hours. STOP and refusals are respected.

## Connect Ringover to WYP.chat

A few minutes, once for the whole workspace: you create the API key in Ringover and paste it into WYP.chat.

For workspace owners and admins, on the Team or Pro plan, or during the Pro trial. According to Ringover, API access is included in its Business plans and above.

1. **Create a key in Ringover**: In Ringover, open Developer › API Keys and create a key with Calls (read and write) and Users (read) rights. Turn on Monitoring so WYP.chat sees the whole team’s calls.
2. **Paste the key into WYP.chat**: Open Settings › Workspace and members, Ringover section, paste the key, choose your account region (Europe or United States) and click Connect Ringover. WYP.chat tests the key and creates the webhook itself.
3. **Check the users**: Each Ringover user is linked to the member with the same confirmed email address. After a change in Ringover, click Refresh users.
4. **Add Allô chantier**: For the missed call message, click Add Allô chantier in the same section, choose when to send it, then submit the prepared template to Meta.

## What the integration does not do (yet)

So you know what to expect:

- Recordings are not copied to WYP.chat: playback goes through Ringover, on demand.
- Calls, summaries and consents are deleted from WYP.chat after 6 months.
- No WhatsApp message after an internal or withheld call, or a call to a landline, and no more than one per number in 24 hours.
- The call summary only arrives when Ringover provides it.
- Ringover charges forwarding fees for calls started with Call back.
- Aircall is not connected yet: the integration is coming soon, on the same model.

## Frequently asked questions

### What about Ringover’s own WhatsApp offer?

Ringover offers WhatsApp too, with its omnichannel messaging add-on. WYP.chat starts from messaging: your whole team answers WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, email and website chat from one shared inbox, with assignment, internal notes and scenarios, and uses Ringover for voice. The two fit together if your messages already live in WYP.chat.

### Do I need a particular Ringover plan?

According to Ringover’s pricing page, API access is included in its Business plans and above. On the WYP.chat side, you need the Team or Pro plan, or the Pro trial.

### Are my calls recorded by WYP.chat?

No. The recording stays with Ringover: WYP.chat only reads it when a member clicks Listen, and every playback is written to the audit log. Calls, summaries and consents are deleted from WYP.chat after 6 months.

### Does the customer get a message after every missed call?

Only if you add the Allô chantier pack, and never more than one message per number in 24 hours. Nothing goes if someone called back or picked up within the two minutes, or for a landline, a withheld number or an internal call.

### Do I need the customer’s consent to message them after their call?

If they wrote to you on WhatsApp in the last 24 hours, the message goes as free text. If not, you need a template approved by Meta and the customer’s consent, collected by Ringover’s phone menu when they press 1. That consent only covers this message, never a campaign.

### What about Aircall?

Not yet: the Aircall integration is coming soon, on the same model. No date has been announced.
